Wet Distillers Grain with Solubles (WDGS) WDGS is the product produced during the grain dry milling process and contains the remaining nutrients after grain starch is converted to alcohol. Hence, the remaining nutrients in the input grain are concentrated approximately three times. WDGS is a relatively high energy and high protein feed, and provides an excellent source of bypass protein for ruminant diets. WDGS will be approximately 35% DM. Quality Distillers Grains currently markets over 850,000 tons of WDGS yearly.
Corn Condensed Distillers Solubles (CCDS) Distillers solubles can be added back to the distillers grain or condensed and used as a liquid feed for cattle. CCDS tend to have slightly higher energy values than WDGS and similar protein values.
Although marketing WDGS and CCDS accounts for the majority of our business, QDG is also involved in marketing other specialty feeds.
Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles (DDGS) DDGS is produced by running WDGS through dryers to pull off the majority of the moisture in the product. DDGS will be approximately 90% DM.
Modified Wet Distillers Grain with Solubles (MWDGS) MWDGS is produced by running WDGS through dryers but for a shorter time than necessary to get DDGS. MWDGS only stay in the dryers long enough to pull off the quick moisture and will be approximately 48% DM.
